Selected projects - conceptual works 2003-2013

Untitled (Description of Object), 2013 (installation, mixed media)

Temporary installation at appartment Pflüger str. 5A, Berlin, March 2013, Berlin.

Concept: Untitled (Description of Object) is a work in progress that deals with how objects are perceived and how this perception is transformed into descriptive words. This work is a research in ways of replacing the object and the artworks with statement and words, to create a shift in focus. This work is a part of an ongoing research in ephemerality, concepts and contexts in art production. To capture the essence and the characteristics of objects and transform these into narratives, that constitutes a new form of materiality through words.

Obsessive Compulsive Acts I-III (Beauty), 2011-2012 (instructions / scores for action)

Score 1: facial treatment was performed at Low Lives networked performance festival April 27th 2012.

Concept: Obsessive Compulsive Acts is a performance series that explores and exaggerates the obssesiveness of beauty in today’s society. These are often absurd and can be a fixation for the person doing them. The obsessive compulsiveness reference is also inspired by the obsessive compulsive disorder, where rituals controls a person’s actions, which I myself have had in my life for about 15 years.

The series consists of different beauty scores / instructions that are performed and repeated in a 5 minute duration, following the instructions as a mantra and an obsession. The movements are desperate and irrational. There will be no speech, music etc. in the performance – only the sound of the acts themselves.

Human Behavior, 2010 - ongoing (photography)

Photographic research project on human behavior patterns.

Concept: Human behavior is a project that deals with the irrational behavior of humankind. It’s a project with various elements, a photographic installation, an archive and a slideshow together with instructions for actions, leaving a room for performance.

Stedspecifik I (2003-2005)

Concept: Stedspecifik (site specific) is a series of photographs and a looped video focused on signs and narration through the combination of objects with actions.
